Our Mission

The mission of the Cathy Kangas Foundation for Animals, a registered 501 (c) (3) charity is to provide a voice to those who have none by making sure that every animal is protected and loved, particularly those in animal shelters.

Wherever there is an animal that needs help: a senior dog in a shelter, a retired racehorse, a seal on the ice floes of Canada targeted by fishermen or a dog befriended by a soldier in Afghanistan, the Cathy Kangas Foundation offers a lifeline.

The Foundation supports animal welfare efforts both locally and across the globe and has achieved remarkable success with two initiatives: Free the Shelters, an international campaign to help homeless animals and Squirrelwood a sanctuary that offers equine therapy to veterans with PTSD.

Free the Shelters was an extraordinary adoption event that allowed us to find furever homes for hundreds of animals! We are extremely thankful, as were our adopters, to have partnered with Prai Beauty!
